Reason Home brings passion and individual artisanship to the forefront

Premium quality, hand made products in contemporary styling ranging from wash bags and nightwear through to cushions and bed linen using only natural materials.

When I went to live in India, over 10 years ago, I completely fell in love with the hand block printing process and I've stayed true to this process ever since.

After the original prints for Reason have been designed in my U.K. studio, it's over to my team of skilled craftspeople in Rajasthan to develop the intricate wood blocks, called " chapa", ready for printing. The carving of the blocks is a special technique in itself which requires a great deal of precision and is a skill that has been passed down through the generations.
My talented team of artisans then bring the colours and patterns to life. It's a long process of trial and error as it's a purely manual craft where even the colours are mixed by eye / hand ( so never expect a second batch of the "same colour" to be the same!). I'm always motivated by the days working with these skilled block printers on the many colour combinations and design layouts.

Finally, it's spending time selecting favourites from my new prints and colourways to build the next seasons collections.

You can't replicate the feel of a hand block printed product. The pressure of the hand with each block placement, the subtle imperfections and irregularities that we love and the authenticity and character of this slow printing, small scale method of production.

It's unique, it's hands-on and every product tells its own story.
